MOTAT Trip

Our topic at the moment is Toys. We visited MOTAT today and we had an education session which told us a lot about old and new toys. Everyone had fun playing with the toys, even Mrs Burge and the parent helpers. We got to explore MOTAT, learn about the trams and we had lots of fun along the way. Fantastic learning for Room 13.

Our News Book

We have been sharing our news and building up our News Book. To do this we share news with a partner. One person is the speaker and one the listener, then we swap over. We were using glue sticks as microphones until Mrs Gilmer bought us some lovely new microphones to use. THANK YOU Mrs Gilmer! You rock!

Buddy Class

On Friday we had our first buddy class with Room 15. We enjoyed getting to know our buddies. We showed them around our room and shared some of our learning with each other. We can't wait to meet again Room 15!

Tinker Time

This week we started Tinker Time. Tinker Time is when we are given opportunities to explore, problem solve and develop a growth mindset. We had the Brain Box Circuits kit this week. We enjoyed exploring and solving the problem of connecting the pieces correctly so that the buzzer was set off or the spinner began to move. We can't wait to use the OSMO kits next week to solve more new and exciting problems.

Music with Mrs Dowden

On Friday we went to see Mrs Dowden to have our first Music session. We had great fun singing, moving with the music, using the drums and pom poms. We can't wait until week 4 to go again.

The Amazing Life Education Van

We had our first session with the Life Education Van yesterday. Harold the giraffe made us laugh. We learnt about solving problems we may have and about the different feelings we might have.

Lucky Room 13

Wow,we have been a lucky class. We won the Whole School Assembly cup on Friday for being the smartest and quietest class in assembly, then we won the Lunch Eating cup on Monday for being so quiet. Unbelievably, today we won the Lunch eating cup again!!! That's three days in a row! GO ROOM 13!!!!

Wobbly Teeth

We have all arrived back to Term 2 with smiles on our faces. However, there have been many changes with lots of missing teeth or teeth hanging by a thread! Have a look at our beautiful gappy smiles.

Fun with Maths

Today we used the numbers 0-20 to make a human numberline. We counted forwards, backwards, said the number before and after, then we ordered random numbers to 20. What a fun lesson!!

Our News Book

Following the teacher's professional development with Jill Eggleton, we have started a class News Book. Each day we share our news with each other. One person is the speaker and has a microphone and the other person listens, making relevant comments and asking questions. Each day one person is chosen to share their news in the news book. Their news it typed up and the person illustrates their writing. Come in and have a look through our News Book if you have time. It is very cute. Here is what we have done so far.
