Goodbye for now Miss Kirkham

Today we said goodbye to Miss Kirkham. We have loved having her in Room 13. The children have adored her and she is already an amazing teacher! We can't wait until September when she comes back to Room 13 for her 4 week practicum.

Sock Puppets

To end our Toys topic we made these fantastic sock puppets. We shared them with our buddy class today and got to take them home. Enjoy playing with them, Room 13.

STRIKE Percussion Group

Yesterday we were very lucky to have the STRIKE Percussion Group performing for our school. They were amazing to watch and listen to. They were so very clever at playing the drums, the marimba and the cymbals. They even made music with fire!!!! Our lovely Miss Kirkham was asked to go on stage and her STRIKE name was 'Wonderwoman'!!! She did a fantastic job! Thank you to all of the parents for paying for STRIKE to come to our school. It was a fantastic performance and inspiring for the children to watch such talented people playing the instruments and making music.

We would like to welcome Miss Kirkham to Room 13. She will be working in Room 13 for the next 2 weeks observing lessons and getting to know the class then we will see Miss Kirkham again in September when she comes to do her practicum. Miss Kirkham has fitted into the class already, the children love her and are loving working with her already. Well done Miss Kirkham, what a great start to your time at Sunnyhills School.

Room 13's Assembly Item

On Friday we shared an item in Junior school assembly. We have been learning Te Reo Maori in our classroom so we taught the rest of the Junior School the song we have been learning. It is the Te Reo Maori version of Heads, shoulders, knees and toes. We had lots of fun sharing our item and we can't wait to do another one.
